On a conference call with Maurice Jones-Drew right now, and he said that he texted with Fred Taylor earlier this week. He -- like so many of you -- wanted to know if his former Jaguar teammate was going to play Sunday.

"I didn't get a response back," Jones-Drew said, "So I figured it was a 'yeah.' "

Whether they cut off communications in the coming days or not, Jones-Drew is looking forward to seeing Taylor on Sunday. And the reason why is because of how Taylor took the young kid under his wing when he came out of UCLA.

"With veterans, you kinda expect them to give you the cold shoulder," he said, "because they brought you into take their spot."

But Taylor had a different message:

"I'm willing to teach if you're willing to listen and learn."

"For a guy to say something like that," Jones-Drew said, "It turned our relationship into what it was."

The two remain close and worked out together over the summer at Bommarito Performance in South Florida. We'll have more from MJD in a little bit.
