Colleague Monique Walker just passed on word to me that tailback Fred Taylor, out since the Baltimore game in Week 4, returned to Patriots practice today, which is being held in shells on the club's upper practice field.

Bret Lockett was the only player missing from the workout.

Now, I'll toss the caution flag up here -- The Patriots have made a habit of bringing players back for Friday practices with no intention of playing them that week. But usually they come back the next week.

So my guess, now, based on this would be that Taylor could be targeted for a return on December 13 in Buffalo. Taylor was injured on his final carry against Baltimore, and underwent ankle surgery that mid-October week.
