Before we get going here, it's worth noting how this stadium has become a hub for glitz and glamour and ... well, a lot of non-football-related pizzazz that tends to aggravate football people.

You guys know about all the part owners here. Jimmy Buffett. Marc Anthony. Serena Williams. Gloria Estefan. And that's just the start. There are large concert areas all over the outside of the stadium, and inside, there are fans all over the field, albeit blocked off by large orange barriers.

No matter what they think deep down (I could venture a guess ...), the guys who deal with the on-field product have said the right things.

"I think it is exciting," said coach Tony Sparano in August. "I really do. Mr. (Stephen) Ross is a brilliant guy. I think that what he is trying to do for our fans, making the game day experience as exciting as it can be, is tremendous. I think having some of these people involved will help us do that.

"I am excited about it. Anything that is going to help us on Sundays out there and help our football team on Sundays is positive. I truly believe the more people that are in the stands the better we are. Just the practice the other day, coming out and seeing the crowd we had, was tremendous for our players.”

Asked if he had Anthony or Estefan on his iPod, Sparano smirked and said, “I got an iPod, but it’s like Frank Sinatra and that stuff."

OK, I've got Patriots, 23-21. Tight game. This Dolphins team is pretty tough and will show its mettle today. Trust me. Even if the "Miami Sound Machine" is a part owner.
