SAN DIEGO -- Who would've guessed the Jets would be here, and the Patriots would be home?
Weird, but true.
Anyway, while I finish up watching the Cowboys, assessing the cleat marks that now dot their faces, and get ready for this one to get going, here are some Sunday afternoon links for all of you back home ...
My Sunday NFL Notes leads with some guys who were around for the Pete Carroll Patriots (Kraft, McGinest, Sidwell), and how they think things will be better this time around for the excitable sideline leader. Also, we got a look at the Ravens' ability to reload the roster, and the Jets' method of trading up in the draft, during an era where it seems like everyone wants to deal down. ...
On his page, and in Saturday's paper, our columnist Chris Gasper advocated bringing in new blood to fill the defensive coordinator vacancy.
Hopefully, none of you had to do what Keifer Sutherland had to do in the wake of last week's loss to Baltimore.
The Florida Times-Union's veteran football man Vito Stellino thinks the Patriots are about to experience what the late-1990s Cowboys -- another team of the decade -- did. Conversely, Adam Schein of FOXSports.com Sirius NFL Radio thinks everyone should tap the breaks on the thought New England's set to circle the drain.
And so you know, tomorrow we'll be starting the first of a bunch of offseason series, with Patriots awards for the 2009 season. Enjoy the game this afternoon ... Hopefully we get the first non-blowout of this round.
