Looks like Junior Seau is prepared to leave football behind once again. On a taped episode of Showtime's Inside the NFL, which airs tonight at 9, Seau tells Cris Collinsworth last week's game was probably the last of his 20-year career.
An excerpt of the transcript provided by Showtime is below:
CRIS COLLINSWORTH: Well are you going to hear any more of his (Bill Belichick) speeches or are you finished? This is 20 years in the NFL…
JUNIOR SEAU: Cris, I’m surfing. I’m going to go surf. Yeah Warren, I’m not going to give you another speech. It’s all over with the speeches. Whatever happens, I can say, honestly say, that that probably was my last game.
COLLINSWORTH: So you’re going to retire after that one.
SEAU: Yeah, that, that’s going to be my last game.
Seau, who will celebrate his 41st birthday Tuesday, first retired in 2006. A few days after announcing his retirement, he signed with the Patriots. This season he came back again, this time, signing in October. He played in seven games this season as a back up and had 14 tackles.
