So you thought there'd be a lull in the Darrelle Revis-Randy Moss feud? Fat chance.
ESPN.com's Tim Graham's got a transcript up on his blog from an interview with Revis, conducted by Deion Sanders on NFL Network, that aired this morning. The former and current shutdown corners played word association. Here's what transpired ...
Sanders: Randy Moss.
Revis: Probably say slouch, too.
Sanders: Chad Ochocinco.
Sanders: Steve Smith.
Sanders: Andre Johnson.
No one should be surprised, of course. Revis wasn't happy with the fact that -- after he shut Moss down in September -- the future Hall of Fame receiver belittled his performance. In fact, I asked Revis flat-out in January if that bugged him, and he didn't mince words.
"It did," Revis told me. “I think you give respect where it’s due. There’s a lot of stuff that goes on with New England and [Bill] Belichick. I just don’t think they were giving me my credit. So in the second game, I had to show them again, and just do my job -- covering the best receiver and trying to shut him down. It's a respect thing that Randy Moss, for some reason, doesn't get."
So, yeah, this one might linger a while longer ...
