Springs clarifies retirement remarks
The talk of Shawn Springs thinking about retirement seems to have been premature. Speaking briefly with the Globe's Christopher L. Gasper tonight, Springs clarified his stance and said he has no plans to retire.
Springs, 13-year veteran, was taken aback when a host on ESPN's "First Take" asked him about possible retirement, and his answer, he feels, was misinterpreted.
"Even if I was" retiring, Springs said, "I wouldn’t just announce it on ESPN. I would consult with some people first."
So he's definitely not going to retire?
"Nah, I don’t think so," Springs told Gasper. "I still got a lot to play for."
