INDIANAPOLIS -- Nick Caserio, the Patriots director of player personnel, spoke with the media for about 30 minutes today at Lucas Oil Stadium, touching on topics from Vince Wilfork's contract to the depth of this year's draft.

Days after Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he believed the team was close to a deal with nose tackle Vince Wilfork, Caserio didn't provide much more insight.

"I'm not going to really expound too much further," Caserio said. "I will say the communication has been good. It's ongoing. I think we're concerned about the Patriots and not what other clubs are doing. I will say that process continues. For us to put a timetable, that's really not for me to say."

Caserio said the process is similar with other Patriots free agents and that communication is ongoing.

If you're looking for an Adalius Thomas update, the wait continues.

"Adalius is under contract; he is on the team," Caserio said. "When he was on the field, he was productive when he played. We will make the decisions in the end that we feel are best for the club."

As for the combine, Caserio said there is depth at safety, defensive end, outside linebacker, tackles and tight ends.
