green-action-photo.jpgAs eight-year vet Jarvis Green readies to hit the free-agent market for the first time, there promises to be a healthy competition for his services, with so many teams now playing the 3-4 and needing a specific kind of lineman, and a small army of ex-Patriot employees out there.

That said, keep an eye on the Denver Broncos, a team that could provide the fit that Green needs.

Obviously, Josh McDaniels has plenty of background with Green, as does ex-Patriot personnel man Keith Kidd, now running the pro scouting department in Denver. And new defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale worked in Oakland with Rob Ryan, another ex-New England assistant. Plus, the Broncos have a need for linemen.

There hasn't been a whole lot of talk between Green and the Patriots since the season ended, and Green has been gearing up to hit the market for some time. I'd expect the Broncos to be one of the teams to give him a call.
