Lance Zierlein of KGOW in Houston is reporting, via Twitter, that the Redskins are expected to make a hard run at DE Julius Peppers.

And by the sounds of it, this could happen fast.

Zierlein's legit ... Way out in front of the Albert Haynesworth news last year. So don't bet against Peppers-to-the-Redskins.

The bidding here -- With Washington and Chicago going to war over the Panthers' all-time leading sack man -- figures to spiral out of control quickly.

Said it here before, will say it again: The Patriots' involvement in this could poison negotiations with Vince Wilfork. So it makes sense that they would hang back an see if he's willing to take less to come to New England. Doesn't seem, at this hour, like he is.

I'd expect that the Eagles would employ a similar strategy. Remember, they got burned the last time they went after a big-ticket pass rusher,  that one being Jevon Kearse.
