The Patriots hosted Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant last Thursday, and he wasn't the only one there -- LSU tailback Charles Scott was there too, for a Wednesday-Thursday trip to New England.

Charles-Scott-06102007.jpgThe 5-foot-11, 238-pounder had a long history of production as a Tiger, rushing for more than 1,000 yards as a junior before having his senior year cut short by a fractured clavicle, which necessitated season-ending surgery. The Patriots likely wanted to wrap up their medical file on Scott with the visit.

Scout.com's Ed Thompson reported on the Patriots' interest in Scott over the weekend, and also noted they had a private workout with Georgia Tech RB Jonathan Dwyer.

Remember, these aren't workouts, but teams can conduct physicals and interviews with the out-of-town prospects they bring to their facility. Here's the list of guys who've been reported to be on the Patriots' list of 30:

Illinois WR Arrelious Benn
Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant
Mississippi State LB Jamar Chaney
Minnesota WR Eric Decker
Michigan DE/OLB Brandon Graham
Tennessee RB Montario Hardesty
Texas Christian DE/OLB Jerry Hughes
Middle Tennessee State LB Chris McCoy
Florida C Maurkice Pouncey
Louisiana State RB Charles Scott
Washington DE/OLB Daniel T'eo-Nesheim
Florida QB Tim Tebow
Tennessee DL Dan Williams
Boise State CB Kyle Wilson

As we've noted before, these can represent genuine interest, a smokescreen or a need to tie up a loose end in a scouting report.
