ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that New England has reached an agreement with free agent defensive lineman Damione Lewis.

Lewis started all 16 games at tackle for the Panthers last season, recording 41 tackles (29 solo) and a half sack, but was released in early March. The 6-foot-2, 301 pound Lewis was a first-round draft pick of the Rams in 2001.

The 32-year old Texas native played at the University of Miami.

(UPDATE: A league source confirms that the two sides have agreed to terms, but the contract is still being finalized.)
