Spikes.jpg
Courtesy of the Patriots' official Twitter feed, with have ourselves some of the rookies' new jersey numbers. And thanks to NFLShop.com, we can show you what those will look like.

First, here are the four numbers the Patriots have passed along so far

6 -- P Zoltan Mesko
32 -- CB Devin McCourty
55 -- LB Brandon Spikes
87 -- TE Rob Gronkowski

Spikes gets the number held by Junior Seau over the last four years, and the one worn by Willie McGinest in the 12 years prior to that. So maybe the Patriots believe Seau this time when he says he's retired. Either way, plenty to live up to for the young kid coming in.

McCourty.jpgAs for McCourty, his number has been worn by a gaggle of journeymen of late (LaMont Jordan, Hank Poteat, Rashad Baker) after Antowain Smith wore it during some of the team's championship years.

Gronkowski gets the digits donned by Ben Coates and David Patten Givens (my bad on that one, rushed this post a little), while 6 gets passed down from one punter (Chris Hanson) to another (Mesko).

So there you have it.
