According to everyone's favorite gossip site, tmz.com, former Patriots running back Corey Dillon won't face charges following his arrest for suspicion of spousal abuse in California earlier this month.

Dillon was arrested on May 1 after his wife Desiree, who is seeking a divorce from the former Pro Bowler, called 911 and claimed she had been assaulted.

According to documents filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney, there was "insufficient evidence of corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition for proof beyond reasonable doubt."

Dillon told TMZ, "The truth will always set people free, so let it be told. I'm a real dude and if I did it, I deserve the punishment. But in this case that isn't the case at all."

Shortly after his arrest, Dillon told the gossip site that he and Desiree had been in a verbal argument and threw water and soy sauce at one another; he strongly denied physically assaulting his wife of 10 years. Desiree confirmed to TMZ that Corey had never hit her, and said she called police to help "diffuse the situation."
