Seahawks QB Mike Teel was released earlier this week, when Seattle picked up J.P. Losman, and it seems like it hasn't taken him too long to hook on somewhere.
In a move that would further bolster the Schiano Pipeline, New England has claimed the ex-Rutgers signal-caller off waivers. Or that, at least, is what his Twitter account is indicating.
And that move piggybacks on the announcement the Patriots just made on their Twitter page, that QB Jeff Rowe and TE Robbie Agnone have been released. Rowe was a practice squad player for the team at the end of last season, while Agnone was one of the guys you'd heard about when referring the black hole the Patriots had at tight end earlier this offseason.
Teel was a three-year starter at Rutgers, and a Seahawks sixth-round pick in 2009.
UPDATE (4:58 p.m.): Agent Neil Schwartz confirmed the Patriots claiming Teel, saying, "He's ecstatic for the opportunity to compete as a Patriot. Not even excited -- Ecstatic to compete." (That quote came down for a while ... Technical issues .. and is back up now, around 5:54 or so. Sorry for any confusion.)
