Patriots players to lead upcoming youth camps

Youth players looking for football tips from the pros have a couple of opportunities to learn from members of the New England Patriots.

On Saturday, Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo will join a group of former Patriots at Al Morro Stadium at Classical High School in Providence to participate in the free clinic organized by the New England Patriots Alumni Club. There will be a dozen former Patriots coaching and Mayo will provide “words of encouragement”

The one-day camp is part of “Football For You” that gives players a chance to share their expertise with the athletes. It is expected to include more than 100 athletes ages 11 to 14 years old.

The event will be from 12:30 to 5 p.m. and walk-on registrations are available for players ages 11 to 14.

There will be seven different skill stations led by former Patriots players and area high school coaches. An autograph session will follow.

Meanwhile Patriots running back Sammy Morris is teaming up with former Washington Redskins linebacker Devin Lemons for the Sammy Morris Football Camp that will be July 15-17 for athletes ages 8 to 18 years old at the Army Field in Foxborough..
