The Patriots announced the signing Monday of defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick, the team's seventh-round pick.

Deaderick is a 6-foot-4-inch, 305-pound lineman, who collected 82 tackles and 8 sacks in 44 career games at the University of Alabama.

Deaderick was the 247th overall pick in the draft and is the sixth draftee the Patriots have signed. The Patriots previously locked up WR Taylor Price, TE Aaron Hernandez, P Zoltan Mesko, OL Ted Larsen and OL Thomas Welch.
