FOXBOROUGH -- Not much news out of this morning's press conference with Nick Caserio, the Patriots director of player personnel. The highlights include Ron Brace's status, potential of pursuing veteran Aaron Schobel, who was released by the Bills yesterday and Caserio's powerful throwing arm.

*On possibly pursuing Aaron Schobel: I think this time of the year, any player that gets released we kind of go through our normal procedure and our normal process as far as evaluating the player, figuring out exactly what his skills are and how that would fit. So he's no different than any other player that gets released this time of year. We'll do our due diligence here moving forward and we will see how it all comes together at some point.

*On Ron Brace's status: "He hasn't passed the physical as of yet, so when he's healthy and he's ready, he'll be back out there practicing."

*There isn't an update on Derrick Burgess, who hasn't shown up for training camp as of yet.

*On his throw that nearly hit Patriots owner Robert Kraft at practice yesterday:"I'll try to make sure I stay away from throwing footballs in Mr. Kraft's direction. ... At least he came over there and shook my hand. So we were able to have a good laugh over it. I guess my arm is a little stronger than I thought."
