Here are a few tidbits from tonight's game courtesy of the New England Patriots media staff.

*Randy Moss caught three passes for a team-high 74 yards. He had a 65-yard touchdown catch that is the longest of the preseason.

*Brandon Tate's 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was the third return of the preseason that is more than 50 yards. Devin McCourty returned two kickoffs for 50 yards and 52 yards in the preseason opener against New Orleans.

*Rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski became the first rookie since 2002 to catch two touchdowns in a preseason game. Daniel Graham caught two TDs against Washington on Aug. 29, 2002.

*Brandon McGowan intercepted a pass from Rams QB Thaddeus Leis in the fourth quarter and returned it 38 yards to the Rams' 10-yard line.

*Brian Hoyer connected with Sam Aiken for a 5-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter that led to a 35-27 Patriots lead.

*For the second straight week, rookies cornerback Devin McCourty and linebacker Brandon Spikes started.

*Wes Welker returned to the starting lineup against the Rams and caught two passes, including a 39-yard catch.
