FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have not announced their roster moves as of yet, but they are expected by the end of the day.

The team has to cut its roster from 80 to 75 players. In the meantime, the Patriots are practicing now and will leave for New Jersey tomorrow to face the Giants in their final preseason game on Thursday at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

The team has had 38 practices to this point.

Bill Belichick just wrapped up his press conference. Belichick was peppered with questions about Tom Brady's contract situation, but not much came out of it.

"Every player on the field is under contract," he said.

When asked if he was concerned that Brady is entering the last year of his contract, Belichick said, "there are a lot of players on our team that are in the last year of their contract. There are a lot of players on every team that are in the last year of their contract. That's not an unprecedented situation."

As the team prepares for its last preseason game, Belichick said time remains for some players to prove themselves.

"Every opportunity to evaluate players is important in the preseason," Belichick said. "Games, practices and the fewer there are the more important those final ones become. Again, a lot of young players the first time through it, the second time through it they don't quite have the confidence, they don't have the full understanding of it. As that process builds, ... they become more confident, their play improves, they're more aggressive. ... You keep going through that process as long as you can."
