Adalius Thomas could be the latest former Patriot player to end up with the Jets - yesterday, New York linebacker Calvin Pace broke his foot, which will put him on the shelf for a few weeks.

That opens the door for Thomas to reunite with his former coach with the Baltimore Ravens, Rex Ryan.

Thomas told me he has spoken with Ryan about joining the Jets, but for now he is in a holding pattern. He absolutely wants to play this year, and joining the man who has called him the smartest player he's ever coached would be a good landing spot. In Baltimore, Thomas lined up all over the field for Ryan - even, occasionally, at cornerback.

Ryan told reporters today that signing Thomas is a possibility and something he'd like to get done "sooner rather than later" according to ESPN New York reporter Rich Cimini.

So in Week 2, the man Pats fans love to hate could be wearing the uniform of the team they love to hate.
