FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots receiver Julian Edelman made his NFL debut against the Jets last season, breaking out for 98 yards on eight catches. But Edelman doesn't think back to that game and himself on the back.
"I actually look at [that game] and say, 'Wow, you really looked like a rookie last year,'" he said. "There was a lot of mistakes and of course there were little things here and there that I liked but I had a long way to go and i still do. We'll break down that film and the second film and we'll get ready for this week."
Edelman may be ready to make his season debut against the Jets this week. He was questionable with a sprained foot leading leading up the season opener last week. He was spotted on the field hours before the game, testing out his foot but the Patriots didn't push the second-year receiver. He was inactive.
"It's always disappointing when you don't get to play," Edelman said today.
This week Edelman has been back at practice and he said he is feeling "good," but he wouldn't let on his chances of playing this week, saying it is up to the coaches and trainers to decide.
"... I'm out there just getting better every practice and working my tail off to do whatever I can to be ready," he said.
