Faulk's status still in limbo

Upon beginning his conference call earlier this hour, Patriots coach Bill Belichick was asked if he had any update on Kevin Faulk's status, as things look pretty grim right now. "No. I don't," Belichick responded.

But the coach did offer a little more as he was hit with a litany of questions.

"They're still working on it," Belichick said. "I think part of it is how things come around in the next day or so. We're not even 48 hours out yet. We'll see how things go in the next day or so and based on how that is, then make a decision at that point."

Belichick was asked later for clarification on whether they'll be deciding whether or not he'll be placed on season-ending injured reserve or not. The coach responded that the first decision to be made is on this week.

But the tea leaves here seem to read that this one's pretty serious.
