FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots safety Patrick Chung was fined $5,000 for a late hit against Cincinnati in the season opener last week, the league confirmed.

Chung did not receive a flag on the play but the fine was for a late hit on Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco.

Chung, who is in his second season, led the team in tackles in the victory with 16.
