FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots have released rookie offensive tackle Steve Maneri.

He was claimed off of waivers by the Patriots on Sept. 5 from Houston but has been inactive for all three regular-season games. Maneri played tight end at Temple in college and has been attempting to make the transition to tackle for the first time in his career.
