FOXBOROUGH -- When Patriots linebacker Tracy White thinks of his goals, being a supreme special teams contributor tops his list.

It appears to be what the Patriots are looking for. The Patriots cut Sam Aiken, Eric Alexander and Pierre Woods, who all were contributors on special teams. The Patriots picked up White via a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. He led the Eagles with 18 special teams tackles last season.

"I got goals to get to the Pro Bowl for special teams," White said. "I think they see how I play and they wanted to bring me in."

White said he primarily plays inside linebacker and has played various roles on special teams. After one practice with the Patriots, White said he got an idea of how the team operates.

"From coming in the door it's all about business and that's what I like," White said. "I'm just trying to get to the Super Bowl and I guess this is my best chance to getting there, so I'm going to do as much as I can and whatever they ask me to do I'm going to do my part."
