Can the Jets rebound? It will most certainly be interesting to see, with this Sunday's game a pretty compelling matchup.

The Jets still have the look -- if they can erase the mental lapses of last night -- of a smothering defense. The special teams were pretty good last night, too, and that was a pretty good team they were playing.

But the Jets seem to get the message that all that won't matter if they get to 0-2. So if you're the Patriots, a pretty desperate opponent should be expected.

New England can bury its rival in a pretty serious hole with a win Sunday, and test its resolve Sunday, and New York knows it.

"The one thing about this week is that you don’t have much time," said Jets tackle Damien Woody, a former Patriot with two Super Bowl rings himself. "You have a day off tomorrow and then we’re back to work on Wednesday and play a game on Sunday. It’s gonna be paramount for us to get freshened up, any bumps and bruises we got, watching some film if we can, but more importantly start getting ready for New England.

"I keep saying, this is a divisional opponent. This game is really important."
