FOXBOROUGH -- After years of hearing the stories from Tom Brady about the good ole days with Deion Branch, Wes Welker got a chance to see the two work this week.

After a couple of practices with the Patriots' newest player, Welker said he could see why Brady was so nostalgic about his time with Branch.

"Tom's talked about him forever, so I knew about him for a long time and how much he loved having Deion out there," Welker said. "They seem to have that connection and chemistry that they had when he was here before. It's good to have that back and great to have him out there to help us win games."

Branch was able to blend in with the offense in his first week with the Patriots since being traded from the Seattle Seahawks.

"I think we've adjusted real well," Welker said. "We've had a pretty good week of practice and Deion's really come in and done really well in practice. I think he picked up the offense really well."
