FOXBOROUGH - Coach Bill Belichick talked today about the roster moves the Patriots made, bringing in kicker Shayne Graham and long snapper Matt Katula, and placing Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve and waiving Jake Ingram.

"Well, I just think his performance in the league is definitely a positive for him," Belichick said of Graham. "He has had a good career, an outstanding career. I thought he performed well this year when he’s had an opportunity....He's a good kicker. He’s had a real good career."

Belichick said the decision to place Gostkowski on injured reserve was what "we thought was best for the football team."

"You go with the information you have and make the decision based on the information that you have at that particular time," Belichick said.

As for the move at long snapper, "[I] just decided to make a change there and we’ll go with that," Belichick said.

The Patriots now have a new long snapper, kicker, and a rookie punter/holder in Zoltan Mesko.

"We’ve got a few days, so it doesn’t really matter," Belichick said of the time it will take for the operation to get adjusted. "We’ll do the best we can in the time that we have. I know those guys are getting started on it already. We know there’s a lot of work to do. So we’ll get at it. They’ve all played in the league, they’re all hard-working guys and I’m sure they’ll do what they can the next few days to get it the best that it can be. So we’ll see where that is."
