The Patriots cut long snapper Jake Ingram, according to a league source, and signed long snapper Matt Katula.

Ingram, who is in his second season, struggled in recent weeks, his biggest challenge coming against the San Diego Chargers when he had a couple of botched snaps and picked up a penalty in the 23-20 victory. After an uneventful game against the Minnesota Vikings, Ingram struggled again with his snaps against the Cleveland Browns. Ingram was a sixth-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2009.

Katula, 28, played six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and was cut by the team in August. Katula's agency, X-A-M Sports, reported the signing via its Twitter account.
