Danny Woodhead didn't have to wait long before the New England Patriots picked him up after he was cut by the Jets back in September. Woodhead was unemployed for less than a week and ended up impressing the Patriots so much, they recently gave him a contract extension through 2012.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said today Woodhead seems to have found a place for himself that suits him.

"Yeah, I tell you, he's been great for them," Ryan said. "(He) really fits their system. It's amazing. Kevin Faulk, he's done a great job in that role, running the ball with them.

"I've got a ton of respect for Danny Woodhead. I always thought (that) he's a terrific player. I think the guy, the main guy you got to game plan, is Tom Brady. Brady's doing a great job. He's smart. He'll throw it to open receivers. We’ve got to do a great job of stopping all of their weapons, but Woodhead clearly is doing a great job, running the ball also."

When the Jets and Patriots play on Dec. 6, it will be the first time Woodhead will have a chance to face his former team. Woodhead was picked up before the Patriots played the Jets for the first time but did not play.
