CB Jonathan Wilhite placed on injured reserve

FOXBOROUGH -- Patriots cornerback Jonathan Wilhite has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, the team announced today.

The Patriots also announced the official signing of defensive lineman Louis Leonard. Leonard was signed as a free agent. He is 6 feet 4 inches and 325 pounds and is in his fourth NFL season. Most recently he was with the Carolina Panthers. He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent signed by the San Diego Chargers out of Fresno State in 2007.

Wilhite played in the first nine games of the season but has been hampered by a hip injury, according to the injury report the last few weeks.
