The Patriots have brought back running back Thomas Clayton, having claimed him off waivers after he was released by the Browns yesterday.
The 5-foot-11, 220 pound Clayton was signed by the Pats in June, then cut on Sept. 4; Cleveland signed him to its practice squad, only to watch New England sign him to its 53-man on Sept. 30. Clayton was inactive for two games, then released by the Pats on Oct. 23, only to be claimed by the Browns. He played in two games with the Browns before being released yesterday.
Clayton takes the roster spot of G Stephen Neal, who was placed on injured reserve this afternoon.
