Now that the match-ups have been determined, the Patriots can turn their attention to the New York Jets for Sunday's playoff game.

Moments ago, Bill Belichick took a few questions about preparing for a familiar foe. The Patriots will face the Jets on Sunday, Jan. 16 at 4:30 p.m.

"Even though we're familiar with them and they're familiar with us, it feels like every time you play a team, games go a lot differently. We're not expecting anything differently than starting this game off and trying to do a better job than the Jets do on Sunday afternoon."

More from Belichick:

On what is different since the Patriots beat the Jets on Dec. 6: "I think they're pretty much the same team. I mean, obviously, they didn't have a good night that night, but they do a good job running the ball, they've got big-play receivers and tight ends. They do what they do on defense, play a lot of man coverage and are pretty physical on the front line. ... I think they're a solid team. Their record reflects that."

On how the playoffs change the dynamic between the teams: "I think everybody knows what the importance of the game is. I don't think it really changes a whole lot. We all know this is a one-game season. They know it, we know it, and both teams prepare for it that way. Both teams will give it their best and we'll see what happens."

Did he start working right away on the Jets?: "I'm not much of a night person."

Did he watch the game until the end?: "Yeah, I did. It was a terrific game."

Can the Jets benefit from playing, while the Patriots on a bye?: "I think the most important thing is the week of preparation and how the teams prepare on Sunday. I think that's what it really comes down to. I don't' think what happened last week or some game in December, or some game in September, or some game in October, I don't think that's going to have too much bearing on what happens between now and kickoff and how other teams perform. Once the game starts, that will be what decides the winner."

On Rex Ryan's comments involving Brady watching film: "I really don't think a whole lot about stuff like that. I'm just trying to coach our team. I think you'd have to ask Rex or somebody else about that. Whoever said it or what the context was I don't know. I'm just trying to get our team ready."
