Today the NFL announced that the league's charitable arm has awarded $1 million in grants to the foundations of over 80 current and former players.

Among the recipients are two current Patriots - CB Leigh Bodden and T Matt Light. Bodden's eponymous foundation, which he started since joining the Patriots, does a lot of work with high school-aged youth. The Light Foundation has a number of programs, including a camp in his home state of Ohio.

Former Patriots players Junior Seau, Lonie Paxton and Doug Flutie also were among the 87 grant recipients.

The grants, given annually, are worth up to $50,000 each.
