FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots picked their second straight running back on the second day of the NFL draft, selecting LSU's Stevan Ridley in the third round with the 73rd overall pick.

Ridley finished his career at LSU with 1,419 yards and 19 touchdowns rushing. He's just the 13th player in LSU history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. He tallied 1,147 yards in 2010 earning All-SEC first-team honors from the league's coaches and second-team honors from the Associated Press.

He's listed as both a tailback and fullback as well as a special teams gunner.
