Quarterback Tom Brady is leading a large-scale Patriots workout as we speak in the Boston area, reports Globe Patriots beat writer Shalise Manza-Young.

She is on the scene and has provided a full rundown.

There are between 40-60 players in attendance, including several rookies (Nate Solder, Ras-I Dowling, Shane Vereen, and Ryan Mallett).

It appears just about every starter is in attendance, including Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Jerod Mayo, Devin McCourty, Rob Gronkowski, Patrick Chung, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Also of note: Ty Warren, Mike Wright, and Aaron Hernandez are working out. Warren and Wright ended the season on the disabled list, and Hernandez had postseason hip surgery. This is the first group football activity for them in some time.

If anything, this kind of workout is just good for the players to keep up their camaraderie. Most haven't seen each other since the season ended. Football-wise, there isn't much to gain. There's no plan, no coaches, and no film study after.
