Patriots players will begin arriving at Gillette Stadium today as the NFL swings back into action. A couple days of physicals, meetings and other preparations will precede the real start of training camp on Thursday.

The first workouts open to the public are on Thursday.

Many players were already in town Monday, and two of them checked out the Red Sox last night. According to photographer Jim Davis, receiver Julian Edelman and linebacker Rob Ninkovich had planned to take batting practice with the Sox before last night's game, but the rain shortened the time available and it wasn't possible.

Stick with Extra Points throughout the day. We'll have coverage of the players' return, as well as any news we get on transactions and player moves.
