The Patriots have placed offensive lineman Marcus Cannon on the reserve/non-football injury list, Globe Patriots reporter Shalise Manza Young has confirmed.

Cannon, who was drafted out of Texas Christian University in the fifth round this year, has non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a treatable form of cancer. The move, which means Cannon can't play or practice until after Week 6 of the season, clears roster space for cornerback Antwaun Molden, whom the Patriots claimed off waivers today.

Cannon remains eligible to be at the Patriots' facility, work out, and meet with medical staff.
