Chad Ochocinco met with reporters again today, and was once again quite subdued, though he dropped a little surprise at the end of his session (more on that in a minute).
Now with the Patriots for just under two weeks, Ochocinco has worked hard to learn the ins and outs of the offense, and is getting more comfortable with it.
"Very confident. The reason I'm able to have the confidence, the little bit I have right now, is because I've been able to consume a lot of information in the short period of time and Iím able to go with the ones [first-team offense]," he said. "Iím feeling very comfortable. I am nowhere near where I need to be [in order] to be part of this offense in a good way, but Iím on the right track."
He credited Deion Branch and Wes Welker with helping him, particularly with understanding all of the verbiage in the offense.
While Ochocinco isn't dropping the ball nearly as much as he was in his first few days, he did have at least one ball go off his hands Tuesday.
His simple response when asked about the drop: "I'm human. We're all human."
As for his surprise - Ochocinco wants to move in with a Patriots fan for a couple of weeks, until he finds his own digs. Really.
"I'm going to do something different; I'm actually going to stay with a fan the first two, three weeks of the season. So that should be fun until I get myself acclimated, I learn my way around and actually just find a place," he said.
Has he chosen the fan yet?
"No. I'll just pick somebody. I'm not sure how it's going to work. They'll have to have internet and they have to have Xbox and that's about it."
"Have I ever lied to you?" he asked.
Ochocinco may be all for it, but it would be hard to see Bill Belichick giving this one the green light...
