FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots made a few more moves today, signing second-round picks Ras-I Dowling (33d overall) and Shane Vereen (56th overall). That leaves first-round pick Nate Solder as the last unsigned pick.

The Patriots also signed undrafted rookie Christian Cox, who is a 25-year-old defensive end out of Utah.

Dowling, who is a defensive back out of Virginia, is 6 feet 1 inch and 198 pounds. He played mostly at right corner for the Cavaliers.

Vereen, who was a running back at California, is 5-9, 205 pounds. He collected 2,834 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns in his career.

Cox, who is 6-3, 250, began as a walk-on at Utah. He had 53 tackles and four sacks in his final year last season.

Lastly, the team officially announced quarterback Jonathan Crompton had been released.
