FOXBOROUGH -- Brian Hoyer played the entire first half in tonight's victory, completing 15 of 21 passes for 171 yards with one touchdown.

His touchdown was an 11-yard pass to Taylor Price in the back of the end zone in the second quarter.

It was the second career preseason start for Hoyer. Rookie Ryan Mallett came in for the second half.

"I think I'm going to see things tomorrow in the film that I wish I would have done better," Hoyer said. "But for the first game, to come out and move the ball, throw it around a little bit, lead the offense -- I thought it was good, but there's a long way to go."
