Former Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather has agreed to a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Meriweather, cut Saturday by the Patriots, was a first-round pick in the 2007 draft.

Meriweather confirmed the move via Twitter. "On the plane getting ready to go to chi town," was one of several messages he tweeted earlier today regarding his move.
