Dan Gronkowski all business with his new team
FOXBOROUGH -- Tight end Dan Gronkowski said there hasn't been much time for him to be excited about joining his brother, Rob, with the New England Patriots.
Dan Gronkowski signed with the Patriots this week after he was cut by the Denver Broncos last week.
"It's been all business since I've been here," Dan Gronkowski said. "I'm just trying to get the stuff down for the game. I know a lot from being in Josh McDaniels's offense. There's a lot of familiarity, so I'm just trying to get it down and focus on the game right now."
A few more comments from Dan:
On having Rob as a teammate: "It's awesome to be playing with my brother, but it's all business right now. We're not out celebrating or anything. It's all football, that's all we're talking about."
How long to get over excitement: "I think it was immediately. Talking to Bill [Belichick] right after I signed, he made the point that it's all business and we're not messing around here."
On the language of the playbook: "The playbook is very similar to what I've been in with [former Patriots offensive coordinator] Josh McDaniels so a good portion of it is exactly the same, so there are little things I have to learn and pick up."
"It helps coming to the Patriots and being in a system like this, and having my brother here and everyone knows his personality and kind of fit right in and it feels like I've been here for a while now."
