At least four notified of release so far as Pats trim roster
At least four Patriots players have been told today that the team has opted to release them:
Veteran LB Ricky Brown has been notified of his release. The former Boston College standout was signed last month, but faced long odds to make the team with other options at the position and on special teams.
Also WEEI.com is reporting that OL Jonathan Compas, RB Richard Medlin and WR Buddy Farnham have been cut. Farnham, a Massachusetts native who played at Brown, was on the Pats' practice squadnlast year and could return.
New England must pare its roster from 80 players to the regular-season maximum of 53 by tomorrow evening.
