The Patriots have finished their round of cuts to get the roster down to 53 players. They had to make 19 roster moves today to meet the roster limit. This list encompasses all of those moves.

Patriots cuts include:

11:19 a.m.: DE Markell Carter, rookie: Patriots 6th Round pick who has practice squad eligibility.

11:50 a.m.: DE Aaron Lavarias, rookie: Undrafted rookie free agent who has practice squad eligibility.

12:20 pm.: DE Eric Moore, sixth-year veteran who played in the final four games of last season, as well as the playoff game against New York.

12:41 p.m.: WR Tiquan Underwood, third-year veteran, signed last week; he does not have practice squad eligibility.

12:45 p.m.: DE Alex Silvestro, undrafted rookie, who has practice squad eligibility and is strong candidate to return to the team in that capacity.

1:30 p.m.: According to CSNNE.com and Scout.com, DL Landon Cohen, fourth-year veteran. He is not practice-squad eligible.

2:11 p.m.: Mark Slough, agent for RB Sammy Morris, announced via Twitter that the 12-year veteran has been released. Morris signed with New England as a free agent in 2007.

3:02 p.m.: S Brandon Meriweather, the Pats' first-round draft pick in 2007. The two-time Pro Bowler was the final member of the '07 draft class still on the team.

4:00 p.m.: ProFootballTalk.com reports WR Brandon Tate, 2009 third-round draft pick, is cut. Tate was inconsistent as a receiver and was not productive as a kick returner this preseason. Last year, he averaged 31.7 yards per kickoff through the first six games, then just 19.6 over the last 10 games.

5:11 p.m.: Two more cuts - veteran LB Niko Koutouvides and rookie TE Lee Smith. Koutouvides projected as a special-teams player; Smith, a fifth-round pick this year, does have practice squad eligibility.

6:55 p.m.: The Patriots announced the final list. Without including the names already listed above, here are the remaining names of the players cut by the team: TE Will Yeatman, OL Thomas Austin, RB Eric Kettani and DB Ross Ventrone.

The Patriots also placed DL Ron Brace, DL Brandon Deaderick and RB Kevin Faulk on the reserve physically unable to perform list. Earlier, rookie OL Marcus Cannon was placed on the reserve non-football injury list. OL Rich Ohrnberger was placed on injured reserve.
