The Patriots will re-sign veteran defensive lineman Gerard Warren, according to league source the Globe's Shalise Manza Young reports.

Warren was cut on Sept. 7 when the Patriots made room for tight end Dan Gronkowski.Earlier today, the Patriots released defensive lineman Landon Cohen.

After the release of Warren, Bill Belichick said it was a possibility that Warren could return. The veteran had been working with the defensive line in a series of rotations during the preseason.

Warren is in his 11th NFL season and in his second year with the Patriots. Warren also played with the Oakland Raiders from 2007-2009.
