Revenge on the mind: As usual, the Patriots shunned the brashness of the New York Jets and their loquacious coach Rex Ryan during this week's press conferences leading up to the game. But one must assume the Patriots have gone over in great detail last year's disappointing playoff exit, a 28-21 home loss to the Jets. And then gone on to compare the two teams' last regular season matchup, a 45-3 win for the Patriots. Surely there was something to glean, not necessarily in X's and O's, but in effort and intensity that fuels this rivalry. Whether that is a motivator for today's game, we'll see.
