FOXBOROUGH -- Veteran running back Kevin Faulk isn't changing his approach now that he is off of the physically unable to perform list.

The Patriots have to make a decision about Faulk's roster status within the next couple of weeks but Faulk said he isn't in a position to worry about when or if he will be added to the 53-man roster.

Faulk injured his knee last season and began the 2011 season the PUP. Last week, he practiced for the first time as the Patriots squeezed in a couple of sessions during the bye week.

As the Patriots prepare for the Pittsburgh Steelers this week, Faulk said he is doing the same.

"My role has always been the same -- do what I got to do to help the team," Faulk said. " If I’m playing or if I'm on the sideline answering questions, I'll do it. My role now is just to practice and try to get better and try to get back on the playing field."
