Patriots offensive lineman Marcus Cannon will be added to the active roster today, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said.

The Patriots have not determined a corresponding move, but the team has until this afternoon to make everything official.

"I would expect that by 4 p.m., we'll make that decision and bring him on to the roster," Belichick said.

Cannon, who was drafted by the Patriots in the fifth round out of TCU, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma earlier this year. He was given a series of treatments and was cleared to return to football months later. Cannon began the season on the non-football injury related list and waited a little more than six weeks before he was allowed to practice.

Today is the deadline for the Patriots to make a decision about his roster status.
